# Software

Captic software runs on the device on your site and in Captic's cloud.

Captic software runs in two places:

* [**On-prem software**](/docs/overview/whats-in-the-box/software/on-prem-software.md) runs on the device on your site. It runs the AI, the web interface and every integration with your line.
* [**Cloud software**](/docs/overview/whats-in-the-box/software/cloud-software.md) runs in Captic's cloud. It stores your data and is where your AI models are improved.
