# WebSocket

Two-way, real-time connections with web applications.

Use the WebSocket nodes for two-way, real-time connections, for example to stream results to a web application. You'll find them under **websocket** in the palette.

| Node          | What it does                                  |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| websocket in  | Receives messages from a WebSocket connection |
| websocket out | Sends messages over a WebSocket connection    |

Each node either **listens** on a path, so clients can connect to the device, or **connects** to a WebSocket server elsewhere.
